Retrieve GPS data from Core Location (or via a direct connection for supported GPS devices - currently, DUAL XGPS150/160 are supported) and transmit it to other apps/devices through the NMEA protocol (compatible with many apps). The internal NMEA client automatically links to the NMEA Server when active (or can be utilized to test and exhibit data from other NMEA sources by deactivating the internal server and configuring it).

NMEA Fps accommodates both TCP and UDP clients (customizable). Please note that UDP, due to protocol constraints, functions solely when the iPhone is linked to a Wi-Fi network.

The current GPS position can be displayed as a QR code, enlarged, and shared.

This application enables the extraction of GPS information from devices lacking an internal GPS (like iPod and iPad Wi-Fi) and from your desktop PC by merely connecting to the device running the NMEA Gps app. This facilitates sharing the same GPS information (possibly sourced from an external GPS) among multiple devices (even those without an internal GPS); a valuable tool for regatta applications where all members can access identical information.

Satellite data may be unreliable when the app connects to GPS via Core Location due to unavailability of this type of information forwarding. Nonetheless, the app can establish a direct connection to DUAL XGPS150 and XGPS160 by Dual Electronics (if accessible) to obtain comprehensive GPS data (complete with satellite information) at frequencies going up to 10 Hz.
